I purchased a replacement screen assembly. Put it in (a serious pain in the butt) reassembled, screen works, no touch response. Did it twice. No dice. The new ribbon for the screen seems to be a tad off on the new part. Causing it to no lay flat if it is going to make the connection. Could the replacement be mid-manufactured?

Usually when the touch stops working its cause by the digitizer failing. One of two things has probably happened . You dropped your phone or your phone got wet . either way you will need to take the phone apart and either check to see that the digitizer is properly connected to the motherboard or if it is connected properly. it means the digitizer is done and you need to replace the it.
