Is that turned off like "slide to turn off", or just with the screen off?

Bear in mind that there is no hardware off setting with this device. It uses what is called soft-off. In other words, power is still being consumed waiting for a press of the on/off button which is often referred to as the sleep/wake button because technically it doesn't turn it off. Think of it like standby in a brown goods device such as a TV. Uses less power, but still some.
