Why is my phone not recognized as a certified phone on my carrier

I recently purchased a samsung galaxy s6 on ebay. It has no phone number, and it is factory unlocked. I want to get a plan from republic wireless, but when i try to use the sim card, it says that republic wireless does not except this model, even though it clearly says it accepts samsung galaxy s6's on the site. What is going wrong?

If you have access to another sim card from another carrier you should see if the phone is really unlocked . It wouldnt be the first time someone sold a phone as unlocked only to find out its not. You may also want to check the IMEI to see that the phone is not been reported as stolen

this site is free to check if the phone is blacklisted
