Exchange SSD from old MacBook air 2011 to 2015

Are there any differences between SSD (mSATA) from macbook air 2015 (MacBook Air 13" Early 2015 SSD Replacement) and that of macbook air mid 2011 (MacBook Air 13" Mid 2011 Solid-State Drive Replacement). I just want to swap the old SSD onto my new macbook air. I do not care about speed or such things. The old macbook air mid 2011 already has El Capitan, Are these compatible?

No they are not compatible. For the MacBook Air;

2010-2011 compatible with each other

2012 only works on a 2012

2013-2015 compatible with each other

Correct! They are not interchangeable between your models. +Reece

What you can do is take the SSD out of your older system and place it into a special case so you can copy off your stuff or use migration assistant if your old system is dead. If your older system is working you can interconnect the two systems to either copy off or use migration assistant using Target Mode.

The point was to give you some options as Reece had already answered! You'll see I even commented as it being correct to support his answer (plus upping his score).
