text alerts not receiving second alert

Text message------when I get the original I get the alert but if I view & they wait like a couple minutes to reply again I do not get an alert. My old phone would alert each time I got the text but on this if they wait a few minutes & phone is in the case I never no I got the second message. How do I set the phone so that it alerts with each message I get so I will not be missing a message by not getting an alert. An info would be appreciated as I am not to good at this but would like to know each time I receive a text message. Thanks in advance for any help

Hi,

You could try enabling Message Alert Repetition to see if this will help you.

Open the Messages app and then tap the menu button (bottom left soft key) an options box will open, then tap Settings, then scroll nearly all the way down and find Message Alert Repetition, tap to enter and select 2 minutes.

After a text message is received, if you do not view it you will be reminded every 2 minutes that there is a text message that you haven't viewed.
