iPhone not powering on but gets hot (not logicboard)

I have an iPhone 5c that I have refiently refurbished however when I come to turn the phone on there is no response. I have left the phone on charge and it seems to get warm. It is not the logic board as I have taken the logic board out and tried it in another phone and it works fine. I have plugged the unresponsive phone into my laptop and iTunes is picking it up. Any ideas?

I think you need to retrace your steps. Look at all the variables and try to eliminate them one by one.

You confirm the logic board works and that the screen works but that the two don't work when they are together in the same housing. If that is true, then it sounds like the problem is related to the housing. There must be a problem with the grounding or a flex is pinched.
