Help Needed For My iPhone 3GS

Hi,

Iv got an iPhone 3GS 16GB, only comes on when connected to the MAINS but cuts off after a couple of seconds and keeps restarting. The LCD comes on but blank WHITE. The iPhone doesn't come on when connected to a USB. I was thinking it to send it to apple so they can replace the product. I know the serial & IMEI number, I just wanted to know that if I put a 32GB panel (back) on my iPhone will apple find out that its a 16GB NOT 32GB?

if you replace the rear cover you will void your warranty with apple. (unless you are extremely tricky.) they will also know the quality of their product- cheap china covers are just that-cheap! if you go to settings, general, about. you will see 16gb (or however much memory you have left) so there's no disguising it.

if you have no obvious signs of damage to account for the white screen, leave it alone and take it to the store if it's under warranty. otherwise you may need to replace the LCD.

Thanks for the reply. That I know the phone is not under warranty, Iv contacted Apple they said they will replace the product and they will give me a refurbished one costing in a fee around £150. I just wanted to know that if I put a 32GB panel (back) on my iPhone will apple find out that its a 16GB NOT 32GB?

you could fix your iphone for less than that! 1. you probably only need a LCD, 2. check dock/battery connection. it's recycling to get a refurb but if you fix the phone and sell it on-you get the money and not the company....
