While surfing the internet my laptop turns off on its own. Sometimes the "on" button works and sometimes it doesn't. This is happening more and more frequently.
I have the laptop raised on a cut-off egg carton so heat does not build up underneath.

It still seems to be overheating, there may be a build up of dust with the fan; I suggest using the; very helpful guides to help you disassembe and blow out the dust from your laptop. You can also bring it to a professional in your area; if you feel uncomrtable doing so.

Hi,
Can you hear the fan running when the laptop is on?
Can you feel air coming out of the fan vent when the laptop is on?
Does this happen if you have the charger connected to the laptop and switched on?
What OS is installed in your laptop?

I have the same problem but I can not feel the air coming out however the van was working
