My screen is shattered how do I remove it to replace it?

I'm in the process of changing my screen but its shattered is there a easy way to remove it?

I purchased a screen for the 3GS 8g will that screen fit the 16g?

Yes it's the right part if you only need to replace the touch screen. If your visual display isn't damaged that's all you need, otherwise you'll also need The LCD. Depending on how broken the screen is you may need to put packing tape or something similar over so you have somthing for the suction cup to grip. Once the display section is off the iPhone you can remove the LCD from the back of the digitiser. Take all the broken glass off, remove adhesive with ? Goo off then replace digitiser. Use the repair guide on the link to the right of this page. Just be careful with the small black seal when you take out the broken glass or you'll end up with a messy finish
