Hi,

Hopefully you have not spilled any liquids onto it.

If so, you have to dis-assemble the entire laptop and clean off all the corrosion. Remove the battery and do not start the laptop again until you are satisfied that all is well.

If you haven't spilled anything onto it then connect a USB keyboard so that you can at least use your laptop.

If it works, it is better to replace your keyboard than try to fix it as you can create more problems than you solve in trying to repair it.

Here is a link to the service manual for your laptop.

Scroll to section 4-20 to see the pre-requisites and procedures necessary to remove/replace the keyboard. Also in this section are the part numbers for the various keyboards available for the laptop.

Do not get the screws mixed up when dis-assembling the laptop as some are a different size and type to the others, (see p.4-21 screws).

To find suppliers of the part, search online using just the part number in the search term to get results. Do not add Compaq or keyboard etc. to the search criteria as this will only skew the results.

Hopefully this is of some help.
