My iPhone acts by itself...

Hi!

I broke the glass of my phone two weeks ago, so I replaced it by one of this website (iFixit).

Since I replaced it, my iPhone is acting by itself (like if it were possessed). You can see it in action here: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?...

It is not like this all the time. Sometimes worst, sometimes better. With no pattern (it's the same if plugged to PC, etc.)

Then it's not all. I can't "touch" some parts of the screen.

Ex: The "r" in text-messaging doesnt work, it makes an "e" or a "t" everytimes.

And the left-side of the screen (for about 1cm) do not respond too. So no access to some apps.

It is probably me who messed up, but I re-opened it to see if evrything was fully connected and it was. So I don't really know...

Any ideas?

Thanks

Chosen Solution

try resetting or restoring your iphone. press and hold the power and home key for 10seconds until apple appears then allow to boot. alternatively try restore in itunes.

otherwise recheck connector 1,2 &3 for damage and dirt, take them off and reconnect.

did you buy the right screen- not a 3g screen (they aren't interchangeable), have seen these problems when wrong part is installed,

otherwise take a look at the screen and clean it-may be dust/fingerprints are affecting it's sensors,

clean and reseat the connections and check for dust/damage.

What should I use to clean it? (I bought a 3GS screen, not a 3G one.)

by

use high alcohol content cleaner-i use isopropyl alcohol. the higher the % the better
