Sudden Motion Sensor not working, location where?

Hi, my MacBook Pro's sudden motion sensor has failed. Verbose Boot says so, SMS apps say so, pretty much everything else does as well. I've recently had my Logic Board replaced (NVidia 8600M GT issue), just over 60 days ago. I'm wondering if my SMS is on the logic board or somewhere else? Should I try to get Apple to fix the computer under warranty (90 days) or is it on another part?

Thanks.

AFAIK the sudden motion sensor is integral with SATA drives. It should be up to the OS to process the signal.

Correct me if i'm wrong.

I have taken my MacBook Pro to Apple, and have found that the problem was the accelerometer on my logic board, and it was replaced free. The hard drive didn't have a problem this time.

Thanks.
