3 Coloured vertical lines after dropping
So I dropped my iPhone, and when I picked it up the phone looked like in the picture. Is this a hardware failure or just a broken LCD?

Broken LCD in your case, changing the screen can solve your problem. Search it here at ifixit theres a lot of guides how to do it.

Broken LCD. Probably LCD cable got ripped when the phone dropped. Usually the top right of the screen pops up on iPhone 5C phone drops causing the LCD cable to rip.
