Constant-velocity joints (AKA homokinetic or CV joints) allow a drive shaft to transmit power through a variable angle, at constant rotational speed, without an appreciable increase in friction or play.. They are not in the transmission they are on your axle which are then attached to your transmission. In simpler terms they allow the driveshaft to flex and turn so your front wheel drive car can drive and steer.

@jesusjesus7 , the engine turns the transmission, the transmission turns the CV joints/axles, cv/axles turn the wheels.
