There are several reasons for adapter overheating, defective charger, high voltage, and dust. If you notice your charging adapter is hot, please turn off your computer and unplug the adapter from computer as well as wall outlet. Later try again if it cause same problem take your device to computer repair shop and have them check it. Problems like this can cause serious damages or fire.
