My laptop suddenly died in the morning. The fan, dvd evrything else are on. I hook up external display and it is still all black. My suspect is display adapter gone bad. Is it woryh it to get new display adapter? I been wanting to upgrade my graphic. I heard m1530 use mx2 display socket which mean can be upgraded? My xps use nvidia 8600m gt w/ 256ddr2. I want to upgrade atleast ddr3 or ddr5 video card.

I noticed that this laptop has both HDMI and VGA out. Have you tried connecting an external monitor to deterime whether it is the display adapter or the actual screen that is dead? If it is just the LCD; a replacement will run you $120-$160.

faulty nvida graphics card. chip has to be reflowed or reballed

What did you find wrong? I have the exact problem! Hooked up hdmi tv & still black screen!!
