Why are there horizontal lines on my screen?

Since I updated my iPhone 6 Plus with the newest update 10.1.1, these white horizontal lines appear on my screen. It's not a constant thing, only every now and then. When it happens, the touch screen doesn't work and I have to hit the power button to turn off the screen, and I have to do this several times before the screen goes back to normal. I can't answer phone calls because of it. My phone is in great condition, and I haven't dropped it. So is this a bug with the update or a hardware issue?

Chosen Solution

Your phone has been afflicted by Touch Disease. Read this article (one of many) to learn more.

Apple has recently announced a replacement program for the iPhone 6+, see here:

You can either have your phone replaced or fixed by a third party repair shop. If you replace it, keep in mind that you will be given a refurbished device and there are many reports that some of these refurbs also eventually suffer from Touch Disease. You will lose your data if you don't have a backup.

You could have it fixed by a qualified repair shop that specializes in micro-soldering repair. There are many good ones to choose from and your data will be preserved.

Pick whichever solution is best for you.
