Replacement Home Button Not Working

I just replaced the screen and home button on my iPhone 6S that was given to me from a friend (previously shattered).

The screen and phone is working perfectly however the new home button does not work at all. The old home button also doesnt work with the new screen.

Is there anything I can try to get it to work before shipping the new button in for a refund.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

it could be a bad home button extension flex on the new display. You ALWAYS want to use the original home button if you have it, otherwise you'll loose touch ID functionality.

The old home button is unusable and the lack of touchID is fine. What are the odds of it being the display extension flex?

Depends on where you got your part.....it's fair to say it could be the button or the home button flex. It could also be something simple like an iPhone 6 home button in a 6s package. They are NOT interchangeable.

I got all my parts from iFixIt

I have this same issue. I recently replaced the broken screen on a 6S and was forced to buy a new home button. Replaced both and the phone works great except the home button is essentially not recognized, nor functional. Not sure what can be done to at least get home button functionality back. Have to use Accessibility Features! Meh! All parts are from iFixit as well.
