no bootable device insert boot disk and press any key

I have replaced my hard drive with new one. I have changed the BIOS to boot for the cd/dvd player. I have inserted a system recovery dvd disk 1 in my dvd player to try and boot from there and it sounds like it is trying to read put it comes back and said (no bootable device-insert boot disk and press any key

Hi, Seems as though the DVD drive cannot read the disc. Can you prove the disc in another pc to see if it is Ok? If it is OK then perhaps the lens of the DVD drive needs to be cleaned.

Hi! Jimmy

1) Check if you save the BIOS changes correctly before exit.

2) Check if the DVD if the correct to re-install the system.

3) Check if you CD/DVD player if working (may no work or damage).

4) If you computer is New or recent, check if you need change to Legacy mode

for the BIOS can recognize the DVD and boot order.

5) Check Install DVD It's clean and scratch-free.

6) Try with a external USB DVD/CD player if you have one.

7) Some PC when boot they show which keys you need to combine to

choose the boot order. Look carefully and quickly what is the combination

for the boot order.

If none of this works continue Try it!!! Some PC just are temperamental...
