Removing the hard drive
Use these steps to remove the hard drive:
Step 1
Remove the access door.
For instructions to remove the access door, see the HP support document, Removing and Replacing the Access Door.

Step 2
Press down on the green release latch for the hard drive cage...
Removing the screw that secures the hard drive
...and slide the drive cage towards the center of the computer while continuing to hold down the latch.

Step 3
Pull the hard drive cage out of the computer.

Step 4
Remove the four screws, two on each side of the hard drive cage.
Save the screws for hard drive replacement.

Slide the hard drive out of the cage.
