Sub Woofer is no longer working

I had some people over and was showing off the deep bass of my sub so I cranked it up all the way and let it play for awhile then all of a sudden the bass shut off. I checked the sub and it was not blown. Does that mean that I messed something up inside of my Denon receiver? If so what do I need to do to fix it?
