newmangeneva60, 1st install good fresh batteries and try. If still not working, there is probably dust/dirt/grime on the barrel of lens or mechanism, jamming it from retracting. Look around the lens barrel where it retracts back into camera, if you visually see debri try clean it out carefully with a small needle, finish cleaning with compressed air or vacuum to dislodge dust etc. and try camera.Check the attached link for more trouble shooting and instruction.
