Help with finding EEPROM

Hi,

I have a 32" samsung le32a456c2d , after entering service manual and changing some options, all what i have now is a black screen, i tried everything nothing works until i found that unbricking my EEPROM ( RESET) may do the job and my TV could work again, the problem is that i searched everywhere on the web and checked the MB multiple times i can't identify the EEPROM i can provide pictures if needed .

Any help is really appreciated,

Thanks in advance.

MaE sTrO are you referring to physically identifying the EEPROM?

by

Yes actually, i found several posts about unBricking /resetting the EEPROM would fix this, there is no harm in trying but just like you said i can't physically identify which 8 pin chip is the EEPROM on the board.

by the way here are some of the links that i'm trying to follow :

MaE sTrO post some high res images of your boards with your question. That will allow us to see what you see. Use this guide Adding images to an existing question for that

I've checked on the schematic and it looks like you are looking for IC5004 (Atmel 24C256). sorry I do not have the board layout

Chosen Solution

Hi,

Try contacting the Samsung technical service section in your location (country even) and asking, as there is none available online, whether they have the firmware for your particular model available and could you either purchase it or get it somehow, so that you can re-install the firmware using a USB flash drive. (This approach worked for me with my TEAC TV which had the problem of powering on with no picture or sound problem. There was no firmware available online but tech support emailed it to me.

It never hurts to ask, the worst that they can say is no.

I found this while reading the guide for your TV and while it will probably do nothing it never hurts to try.

''Problem : The ‘Resets all settings to the default values.’ message appears.

Solution : This appears when you press and hold the EXIT button for a while. The product settings are reset to the factory defaults.''

So I was thinking that perhaps you could try holding the exit button on the remote for a while, 30 seconds say and see if anything happens. Worst case is that you have just wasted 30 seconds of time.

Thanks Jayeff for the reply, i already tried contacting Technical Service, had no luck with that, I also tried resetting with exit button and resetting through service menu ( blindly) since i have no image at all, nothing works till now that's why i think the EEPROM is my last option.

Hi,

There is always this option as long as the board is the correct one!

That would definitely be my last option buying a new board, Thanks.

Hi, Just saw you comment re the links. Don't suppose your mainboard was as friendly as the one in the video where it actually said eeprom on the board? Maybe Googling the package number on the likely looking ICs will help to identify their purpose.
