The battery is the long rectangular outline on the underside of the laptop towards the screen hinges. There are two pill shaped switches close to the battery that have labels 1 and 2. For switch 1, slide it to the unlock position (specified in the small diagram next to the number). Next, slide switch 2 into the unlock position (also specified by the small diagram next to the number) and hold it in that position (it is spring loaded so the switch will return to the lock position upon release). While both switches are in the unlocked position, use your fingers or a thin, sturdy object to lift the battery out from underneath the indent between the two switches.
