How do I repair the taping/knocking in my engine.

I'm leaving the house for work,and when I started the car I noticed that the engine was running rough with a tapping noises.I instantly knew that the car was low on oil.I only had enough money for 2 quarts.I ran the car for about three days ,then I changed the oil and the oil filter,thinking that the taping would have stopped .and it its only been a week and a half and it only got worse.Before the tapping turned into knocking.I was recommended to some reslone. It didn't seem How do I take the steps toward fixing it my self(with the help of you guys)

Reslone will only delay the inevitable. once you've started down the road of excessive wear there's no tuning back short of replacing the offending part. The tapping noise will probably be hydraulic lifters going solid. Unless your in a position to be able to tear the engine down reslone or a similar product is your best bet . But again its only delaying the inevitable. And it is very important to be regular with oil changes and not to run youself low on oil again , next time you probably wont hear tapping
