SD card slot problem

SD Card will not click into position, it bounces back out, I can shut the door and make it go in, then the review gives me the message there is no card.

Hi, Have you tried a different SD card to see whether the problem is with the card or the camera?

I had this issue, did some research and found out that a tiny sliver of one of my SD cards could have broken off into the chamber. I got a flashlight and WA LA.... yes, that is what happened. I watched a video of a guy who dug his out himself. I did not have such luck, and am taking my camera into a professional who will charge me 30 bucks to get it out. So, get a light and look!

You know the card has to be pushed against the spring until it "clicks"?

Might be that the mechanism which holds the card in is broken and hence the card bounces out.

I had the same problem with my D80. I sprayed some compressed air into my SD card slot and it started holding on to the card again. Got lucky. My guess is there was some debris present that prevented the SD card retention mechanism from engaging.
