Search online for any 'free' anti virus program. Download, install and run the one that you prefer. Ensure that it is suitable for your OS version. They mostly are.

Also if you install an A/V program, turn off Windows Defender to avoid possible conflicts by having the two programs running concurrently.
If you also wish to check for malware, install something like Malwarebytes. Windows defender is quite good too. My preference is to turn it on run it then turn it off leaving the A/V to run all the time.
