Why does my phone overheat where the display cables are?

Hi all,

My phone overheats severely where the display cables join the logic board. This causes the iPhone to not turn on. Originally it could work on charge and not off but now it just turns straight off.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Im not an apple guru but sounds like your issue is hardware related. If its still under warranty i would havevit looked at by qualified Apple tech's

To be exact, is it right below the rear camera spot?

Yes Ben, it's right below the rear camera spot. Where the three cables connect. The iPhone isn't in warranty, has been dropped and screen replaced.

I would check the backlight solder points. They are supposed to have tape on them but sometimes they leave them off. The backlight makes contact with the metal plate and can start a short. If you opened phone and took a picture of the inside of the screen I could tell you if that was the case.
