Digitizer issue, LCD works fine but no touch function

I have replaced my faulty Iphone screen twice with TWO separate screens.

The first screen had classic signs of faulty parts(White and black lines up and down the screen, and some checker patterns)

NOW this second screen is working perfectly fine, NO LINES NO CHECKERS. The phone looks like new, YET I still have no touchscreen function. SIRI works and responds.

Should I try a hard reset to resolve this issue? Soft resets have done nothing so far. I havent been wanting to do a hard reset cuz I don't know if my phone is actually backing up on my PC even though it says that it is.

Itunes does recognize it as my phone as well, so its not like I have to force it to sync.

THANK YOU

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Could you give a little more information about the replacement time line? Why was the screen replaced originally, was it a factory replacement and how long between the first time it was replaced and the second.

This does not sound like software at this point so hold off on the reset.

Sometimes digitizer cable gets unplugged or loose before putting the front screen cable shield for the top right of logic board + 3 screws.

Double check that.

Replacement was due to a slowly faulting digitizer(original Iphone 5s screen) which became dead.

I replaced the iphone screen with the first screen and it did the white lines, sent that back and got a replacement.

The replacement LCD is good. I just repaired it yesterday.

The connections seem sound and click into place. I have used alcohol to clean the contacts many times as well... ive repeated the process of cleaning and unhooking MULTIPLE times. LCD SCREEN IS PERFECT, just never any touch.

I also cannot flash my iphone due to it still being hooked up to the icloud... just found that out sometime today/early morning.

Was the digitizer on the first replacement functional?

My first guess would be the digitiser cable isn't down properly.

Make sure you clip it in nicely, if it doesn't feel right then it probably isn't.

If that doesn't work try holding the screen at about 45 degrees or so and see if you get any feedback at all from the digitiser, if it responds a little but jittery, then it could be a pinch in the cable when you closed the screen down.

Otherwise try a new screen if you can as it could just be a faulty digitiser.

Do you really think I'd get sent 2 faulty digitizers?

Or are they more prone to faults? :/

your first part had a faulty LCD, your second part probably has a faulty Digitizer. it is likely that you received bad parts. It isnt uncommon if you are ordering the parts at a low price, usually price reflects quality.

Yes there is a high possibility of 2 faulty parts.

Different suppliers have ratings showing how many parts per 100 are faulty.

One common rating system is A, AA, and AAA. It means there is a higher possibility of faulty parts, and also blemishes on lower rated parts. Also some suppliers don't tell the truth with these ratings.

Be careful when buying parts. I doubt it is your phone that is damaged.

Thanks for the responses, as of right now I have sent back the second screen and am awaiting more info.

I just find it very hard to keep getting tech that "doesn't work" or is "faulty" but thank you for all the information. I'm just going to take better care of things as far as my tech goes.

Will fill in when I have more info.
