Touchscreen shows context menu when I touch it

Hi everybody,

Lately my touchscreen doesn't work properly anymore. Whenever I click this click acts as if the right mouse key was pressed and I see the context menu.

I'm not sure if this is a defect, has to do with the latest Windows 10 update, or if I accidentally switched a setting I'm not aware of.

Does anybody know more about this or has/had the same problem?

Thanks a lot for any hint,

Marion

Chosen Solution

1) Clean the screen and track pad thoroughly with a microfiber cloth and canned air (for the track pad).

2) Generally speaking the track pad can be diabled using the fn key and an function key. If you disable the track pad and this solves the problem then that means there is an issue with the track pad.

3) If none of the above works then you may need to reinstall the drivers for your touchscreen. You can search for device manager using cortona and then locate your touch screen from that list. Right click and remove the touch screen driver. Restart your computer, it should automatically reinstall the drivers on start up.

Thanks a lot - sorry for the late reply.

1) and 2) didn't help unfortunately, so I'll try 3). Will keep you posted.
