Changed 4-prong to 3-prong after a move.

Kenmore Elite He3 powers on, but will not work. Tested the electricity from outlet and wires (by a retired electrician). He says all work. He advised calling an appliance person to test motherboard, circuits. Each person I telephoned has never heard of a motherboard, circuit board. Please help.

They would just call it a different name, like control board or something similar. This pdf should help with the diagnosis. Kenmore-Elite-HE3-Dryer-Tech-Sheet.pdf

The 4 prong power cord had the ground (green) wire screwed to the cabinet and the 3 other wires were screwed to the terminal block. A 3 prong power cord doesn’t have a ground (green) wire. The middle terminal on the block has a white (neutral) wire that needs to be screwed to the cabinet where the ground (green) wire was attached. This is a common mistake.
