keyboard ribbon cable connector clamp is broken

so I'm a dumb dumb and totally broke the clamp on my keyboard ribbon cable connector. I have tried the tape solution with no luck, the whole connector is just crap now. I did purchase a replacement clamp, but it is only a replacement for the front half ( see pictures) has ANYBODY had luck soldering off the front portion of the clamp and replacing it?? if so I would love pictures or videos or just really detailed instructions!!! I have tried searching the web and come up very empty handed. THANK YOU!

It certainly is replaceable, but you will need a micro-soldering iron and probably a hot air station as well. I would recommend just taking it to a 3rd party repair shop that does MacBook component-level motherboard repair.
