Battery not charging but plugged in

Battery is at 93%. it says its plugged in and not charging. I have 2 HP Laptops and both have batteries that aren't charging. The second one has an internal battery and cannot be changed.

jensen2418 sounds like a bad battery. What is the exact model of your HP? what have you checked?

  • Disconnect AC
  • Shutdown
  • Remove battery (If removable) if not continue down below
  • Connect AC
  • Startup
  • Go to search and Type "Device Manager"
  • Click on Device Manager a dialogue will pop up
  • Under the Batteries category, right-click all of the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listings, and select Uninstall (it’s ok if you only have 1).
  • Shutdown
  • Disconnect AC
  • Insert battery
  • Connect AC
  • Startup

Windows will automatically install it again "Plugged in, Not Charging" should now be gone.

Ive had this issue and this is what I did to fix it, let me know if it works for you.
