Recovering Files After Format

I was trying to transfer music to my phone like i always do, but when I plugged it into my computer, it didn't recognize my phone and asked if I wanted to format the disc drive. Me not thinking it was going to delete every single file the phone functions with, i formatted the entire phone and when I did, the phone told me that the android system has stopped. I turned my phone off and now it won't even turn on.

Hi

Try a hard reset. Maybe you haven't wiped everything.

If it does work all your user files and downloaded apps will have been erased. The phone will be restored to a factory default condition. It will be like when you first bought it.

Since you don't say what particular One Touch model you have the procedure is slightly different but essentially the same, if you follow me.

Here are two hopefully one will work for you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Press and hold down the Volume up key and the Power button at the same time until a menu screen appears.

Press the Volume up button to highlight Recovery, then press the Volume down key to select.

Press the Power button to select the language you would prefer.

Use the Volume down key to navigate to wipe data/factory reset.

Press the Power button to select this option.

Press Volume down to select "Yes -- delete all user data".

Press Power button to select.

Press the Power button to select reboot system now.

The phone will reset.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Turn the phone off.

Press and hold Volume up and Power buttons until the reset interface appears on the screen.

Touch the desired language.

Touch wipe data/factory reset.

Touch Yes -- delete all user data.

The phone will now wipe all contents.

Touch reboot system now.

Hi @firelofd23

The best that I can suggest is that you try to reload the ROM into your phone.

You don't say what model of One Touch you have so hopefully the following link may be of some use. Read the disclaimers before you decide.

Good luck!

So I'm assuming its an Alcatel One Touch Star, but it doesn't have any indication of what type of Alcatel it is. Also, there is an extra issue where when I plug the phone to my computer, it will beep as if its scanning the drive but then it'll beep again as if the device had been unplugged. it wont scan my phone so i have no way to transfer files onto my phone at all.

Hi, There is this one but if your phone is not a 'Star' it may cause more problems.
