Can someone tell me why my screen is permanently like this?

For a while my tablet screen has been displaying this and since I'm not exactly technologically advanced I've asked around and someone said it's the digitizer but im not 100% sure if that's what it is. It happened while plugged in watching YouTube. The screen is displaying large gray and black lines.

No never it's also always had a case on up until this happened

have you had this tablet long ? did it do anything funny before this happened ?

is it still under warranty ?

by

I got it in 2014 for Christmas and it never showed any signs before it happened suddenly in late 2015 and no there is no longer a warranty on it

by

so one day you just turned it on and this happened ? this is surely not the digitiser it is the LCD, which is behind the digitiser (glass part). I'm sure the touch works fine. do you see the lines change or are they always static ?

hi, your LCD/digitizer will need to be changed, There is a very slim chance that the lcd cable has come loose. most likely that either it was dropped or some other sort of damage occurred to the tablet i.e. sat/stood on, water/condensation from being in a damp room etc....

Good luck
