no display but computer is on
pc is p4, very old. no display and keyboard not working, mouse light on. processor fan on that means computer is on. what to do

try re-seating the processor, check your memory cards(RAM). sometimes it can also be your graphics card also.

Try one stick of memory (RAM) if you have two. One or more can be faulty.
There are a lot of points of failure. Does the computer make a beep sound? I think most pentium 4 computers have a PC bios post speaker in them.
