Hi George;
Any device just doesn't fall, it has no legs ! YOU dropped your device either by accident or because probably you are too careless. Anyhow, with water one never knows what may happen.
The battery will have suffered for sure, because water wil have caused shortcircuit on it.
You didn't mention if your device still operates or not.
I assume that by now the unit is dry. There is some free app that can test batteries on their performances, but I would suggest that you replace it anyway (if your device is still working and worth the price of a new battery.)
