Conflicting part numbers for MacBook Air Trackpad

Hi All,

I'm getting ready to replace the trackpad on my mid-2012 Macbook Air (11" 1.7ghz, Core i5), A1465. I'm finding two different part numbers listed by various on-line sellers. IFixit has it listed as Apple Part 922-9971 but IFixMac has it listed as Apple Part 923-0117. Has anyone with this computer had problems with trackpads with either of these part numbers? Maybe they are interchangeable?

Best,

Grant

Finding the correct part can be tricky!

What I do is check the service manual for the given system which will give you the P/N if you have access to one. Often you'll find them online if you google for it.

For reference here are all of the compatible trackpads for your system: PowerBook Air 11" Trackpads - 922-9670, 922-9971, 923-0117, 923-0429. Over time Apple improves the product which is why you see so many P/N's here.

I would recommend you google each of the P/N's to see what you find for price and availability. You do what the newest version here.
