LCD Glass not working after replacement

Hi,

So I was replacing the LCD glass on my iPad 4 (a1458) and at first the screen worked great (before putting on adhesive) I tested it a second time before putting the adhesive on it again, then only 1" or so towards the right side was working. Nothing else was responding. Home button and lock button working. Could it be a faulty LCD, I tried reconnecting the cables a couple times but still no luck. Please help, and thanks in advance!

From what I have read online and other posts, I think it is a bad LCD but I am not sure, since it was working at first.

I did tuck it in. It is still the same only the right side of the screen works.

by

Right, that is what I mean. The digitizer (cable that is connected to the glass) it is tucked in in the frame, but it still doesn't work on the full screen. It only works about an inch or so on the right side.

by

When I put the glass over it the left side is lifted near the cable. but it is still tucked.

by

Well there is a chance the digitizer is faulty due to a bad quality digitizer ribbon cable or you just simply gotten a bad digitizer.

It has nothing to do with the LCD. The LCD is only used to display an image. The digitizer is part of the glass and is for the touch screen functionality of the iPad. You probably have the digitizer ribbon cable being crushed between the metal housing frame of the iPad and the glass. You need to tuck the cable in a way that it doesn't get crushed like that.
