Screen replacement did not work

I just finished replacing my cracked screen. Purchased the screen/digitizer through iFixit. The device turns on. The Home Button also works, but nothing happens when I touch the screen, which means I can't "slide" anything. There are also double vertical lines across the entire screen. Followed step by step! What did I do? Nothing ripped during replacement. I'm so afraid to attempt to pry open new screen to look around. I don't want to bust my new one! Any tips/hints would be greatly appreciated! Can't seem to find anything in the answers section pertaining to this issue -- just a white screen, which I don't have.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hey Jaime Friel,

Have you already tried a Hard Reset? Hold the home button + power button at the same time for like 5 secconds. Your iPod will reboot and maybe this works.

Unfortunately, I already tried that. Nothing.

Than you just need to heat the screen and try to take it out. It will not break, but just apply enough heat.

Maybe one of the cables is bent to the wrong way or something like that.
