Why wont my phone stay on?

I have a galaxy alpha, it wont stay on!! When on charge its just turning off and on and repeatedly doing this! It is also getting hot! When off charge its doing the same! Is it the battery or has my phone died???? Help!!!!

Is it the white Samsung text and off and how many seconds before it does that?

Is it during the Samsung animated logo or the static one?
