Had a issue with iPod not staying on. The screen said battery to low. Got a battery replacement kit from ifixit and still won't hold a charge. It seems fine while charging but shuts down as soon as I unplug the charger.

@jorshay unlikely that is it the battery since it is an ifixit batery. Possible of course. This model iPod is plagued by a bad battery connector. It even has the tendency of breaking off the board. So you want to carefully check on that.
