Backlight doesnt power up

Hello ASUS people,

I have a fantastic Asus U30JC. It has been working greatly for 6 years but a few months ago a specific zone in the LCD got darker. The backlight in that area had died, no problem, I ordered a new LED LCD to replace the older LCD.>

The replacement was very easy, just unscrew the top cover and replace one for the older. Fine.

After turning on the pc the LCD was working ok, but the backlight took a few seconds to power up. After several reboots the time the backlight needed to power up was taking more and more time and by now it no longer power's up anymore, but the image is there!

What do I do? Replace the cable? A new LCD? Roll over and cry?

Help please!

João

I would check the cable connection first....Most have a strip of tape across the connector to keep it from getting lose.....Make sure the tape is there or put a piece of tape across the connector after you check it...
