installing windows 7 to SSD drive
Hi all..i need help from software geek please ..i got Samsung 850evo SSD drive and hp elitebook 8460p.,i need to install win7 ULTIMATE in it..the drive was attached with CD that is for cloning the old software i think.. i got exactly the same hp laptop and the same old drive working here(it is for my brother) can i clone exact windows from my brother laptop and copy it in my new SSD drive?? ..that's it
Is this a good question?
You will need two separate COA Windows keys. I would do a clean install on your SSD. Why do you need to install Win 7 Ultimate ? Is the HD the same size for both. There is cloning software that can clone a smaller drive on to a large drive proportionally. You need exactly the same model. They could be the same
model number but if one was built in the the begging of a year and second built at the end of the year it could be with different hardware. I would recommend a clean install for best results.
