Touch Screen Not Responding

I repair Devices on a daily basis. I have run into a problem that I cannot identify. I replaced the touch screen on a Ipad 2 A1395. After replacing the touch screen, I boot up the device and the touch screen will allow me to slide to open, after that, there is no response from the screen. When it goes to sleep, I can wake it up using the Home button but still no response. I have disconnected the battery, disconnect the Touch screen, re attach the touch screen, reconnect the battery and repeat power up but still no luck. I have restored the device and still no luck. I only get a temporary touch response. I have tried 3 new screens and all display the same problem. I have had the Digitizer FPC connectors replaced thinking maybe it was the connectors but still the same problem. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Also, I have noticed I cannot wake the Device with the power button but I can get it to power up and show the power off slide bar but since the touch screen does not work I cannot power it off without disconnecting the battery.

Thanks,

Bob

Hi Bob

Probably a motherboard issue.

You should look at the broadcom microcontroller

Comments:

I gave up on it after speaking with Chris Long about it. He does board level repairs and quit chasing this issue on the iPad 2. It just isn't worth the cost. Chris is on YouTube and does live streams on various repairs on Apple Devices.
