How do I get these flipping things apart?

Hey,

I just started doing phone repair and the biggest issue I'm having is getting past all the adhesive. I keep reading about ' heat and patience', but it seems that no matter which method I use (hair dryer, heat gun, iopener) or how much time I heat something, it just doesn't come apart easily. I shatter backs and peel off LCD assemblies in layers.

It's very frustrating seeing stuff here and on youtube come apart fast, perfect, and in one piece.

Any 'tricks' you can share with a newb would be greatly appreciated. Been working for 2 hours trying to get the back off of a Galaxy Note 5 and I'm about to chuck it at a wall :)

Answer this question I have this problem too

There's no real "trick" with these phones. The thing that's hard about them is the fact that the back edge is so steep as opposed to the S7s. At work I use a heat gun and I burn the heck out of the battery cover towards the bottom and towards the power key side (where most of the adhesive is), then I use a suction cup to lift the bottom up and I use a guitar pick that's been shaved around the edges to slowly go around the phone and I do each side evenly to prevent the glass from breaking. Now I say I burn the heck out of the back of it, that's just what I do for the sake of making a quota at work but I'm sure you take enough time and pay attention to those areas using the same basic method as me and you'll do fine.
