Camera causing iPhone issues

I cracked my screen a few weeks back and it finally died, it was completely black and would not respond at all. I took it to the repair shop who said there was a problem with the rear camera, getting too hot. They tried replacing the camera but it was still too hot so they have left it disconnected and replaced cracked screen. Also battery life is now half as good as it was before the repair. The only problem I had with the camera before screen died was the camera freezing after current update (only on photo, video was fine). Please help!

agree with Ben on this one. I've fried camera ICs before and blanked the whole phone. The good news is the camera IC is one of the easiest to get at and fix, if you are comfortable with board level stuff.

I think this is a camera ic component issue. One of my friends fixed it for me when they give me a refurbished phone so I know this issue is fixable that way. Sometimes it might require other stuff but you already tried replacing the rear camera so I think this is it.

I'd take it to someone that can fix this issue.
