They say the battery isn't accessible but in fact that is incorrect. remove the main battery from the camera, then look in the slot the battery goes and you should see a little box thats been cut out but not fully, use a screwdriver to snap this lil tab out ( don't worry won't cause any harm ) and theres the little clock / date battery. next you will need a pick tool or something thin and pointy to remove the battery from its holder. to reinsert the battery is as simple as placing battery over the battery holder and push down and your all done.

got a pic for you hope this helps

I took the battery out of a working 500d to test this, it didnt work. When I put the working battery back in the working camera, that now wont turn on? Can you damage these batteries by touching them?

Hey mates, I took out the internal battery Of my Cannon Rebel T1i, The battery Says:

MS 614 SE / 9148

Unfortunelly I lost the Original battery (I’m an idiot I know) and now I can not find a place to buy it, I had found this:

‎MS614SE-FL28E‎

Seiko Instruments

BATT LITH 3V 3.4MAH COIN 6.8MM

Or

https://co.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Seik...

But I dont know If this battery would work, Can Anyone please help me, I’m desperate.

Thanks to all.

Hi,

My Rebel T1 / 500D / Kiss X3 is suddenly dead (after a blue light flashing near the WB button until I removed the main Battery).

I've tried everything:

change the main Battery, the SD Card, change and remove the optic, removed the main battery for a whole night, but nothing change, no power at all…

Do you think a dead button battery could cause this issue, or is it simply an electronic issue?

If anyone has a clue, I will grateful : )

Hi, what was the solution? Attila

Hi,

brought it to Canon and they charged me with an "Electric circuit replacement" (flat rate): 155€…

Now it works, but I didn't have any precise explanation about the issue.

by

For the record, it wasn't cheap but 6 Years after it still works with no issue so far : )
