RAM upgrade, missing RAM modules serial number!

Few days back I purchased a Corsair CMSA8GX3M1A1600C11 8GB Dual Channel Mac Memory from AMAZON.IN

I installed it into my MacBook Pro, After installation the RAM was running fine but when I checked my RAM modules details following the steps below:

ABOUT THIS MAC >> OVERVIEW >> SYSTEM REPORT >> MEMORY >>

Below is the screenshot of what I found

In above screenshot the Memory "SERIAL NUMBER" of the newly installed Corsair CMSA8GX3M1A1600C11 8GB Dual Channel module is "NOT DETECTED"! I also checked the RAM in my other MacBook Pro 15" it had the same issue of not being detected!

Also tried installing the module in another slot too but the issue still exists!

So please let me know whats the issue?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

First relax! There is nothing wrong with your system.

What you are seeing is the failure of Corsair to serialize their memory modules. The memory standard made serialization as an optional item, so some do it others don't.

You might want to give them a call complaining. You could tell them the company you work at requires they have a serial number so there is no question of theft.

Otherwise your good to go!
