Sounds like either the LCD is bad or the LCD cable has either become loose or going bad, more than likely it's the cable that is giving you the trouble. When you open and close the lid on your laptop the wiring inside can become loose or start to wear out due to the constant movement. I've seen this a lot over the years, this is a common issue with all laptops.
